Indeed, to Shahnaz Husain goes the credit of embracing India’s traditional herbal healing science, popularising it all over the world and starting an international trend of Ayurvedic beauty care.


An entrepreneur always needs a vision, in order to make dreams a reality. Shahnaz Husain’s vision was to promote the Indian herbal heritage to every corner of the globe. She has done so with a crusader’s zeal, putting India on the world beauty map. Her vision is to see India lead the international cosmetic industry in Ayurvedic beauty care in the 21st century. Her efforts are to make this vision a reality.


My philanthropic work has remained the nerve centre of my entrepreneurial success. I feel grateful that I have had this opportunity to pay back in a small way for what I have received in plenty.  It gives me a wonderful feeling of having achieved something truly worthwhile. It cannot be measured in material terms.


Apart from opening the windows of the world to nature, Shahnaz Husain’s philosophy of life is “Do your best and leave the rest to the Will of God.” This total surrender helps her to stay grounded, no matter how high she may soar on the wings of success. She believes that what remains constant is inner strength.

The Group Presence

The Group has acquired a global presence, having sold at the leading stores, exclusive outlets and franchise salons worldwide. The network of franchise ventures and direct product distributors has extended worldwide, from South East Asia, Japan and Australia…. to the Middle East, Africa, USA, U.K. and Europe. The products are also available in other countries of Europe, like the Netherlands, Norway, Czech Republic, Belarus and Russia. In order to expand the enterprise in the U.K. and Europe, Shahnaz Herbal has set up a Liaison Office in London and has also appointed renowned Distributors. 

The Franchise Way

The Shahnaz Husain franchise is at the core of the success of the Shahnaz Husain brand. Apart from strong branding, the franchise offers an established business model with proven success rate.

The Shahnaz Husain Signature Salons have become internationally known for path-breaking treatments and innovations. The Group also offers the opportunity to associate with the Shahnaz Husain Brand by opening franchise branches of the beauty training academies and also Franchise Retail Outlets. Trained Beauty Advisors are deployed by the Group to sell and educate the end consumers about the products.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Where Corporate Social Responsibility is concerned, Shahnaz Husain wanted to make a positive contribution towards empowering the less privileged by supporting vocational beauty training for the physically challenged. This way they would have the opportunity to be financially independent and self-reliant. At the end of the course the students receive the Shahnaz Husain Beauty Diploma, so that they can find jobs and lead meaningful lives. Help is also provided in finding suitable jobs, as part of Corporate Social Responsibility.

SHAMUTE: The beautiful world of the silent.

Since 1984, Shamute has trained hundreds of students and even helped them find employment. Many of them have been employed in the Shahnaz Herbal salons and franchise salons, while others have started their own salons or gained employment in other salons. Today, there are four month courses round the year. Free cources are open to the speech & hearing impaired (subject to availability). 

SHASIGHT: From Darkness towards Light

Shasight was started in 2008 to provide free beauty training to the visually challenged. In fact, Shahnaz Husain has also written a book on beauty, which has been put into Braille for the students. The book also serves as a reference book, as they can keep referring to it. It contains all the details of massage like the various massage strokes and also includes theoretical knowledge of the skin and hair like skin and hair types and problems, clinic management and business management.


Shahnaz Husain is also involved in Government Skill Development through her beauty academy, for Training and Certifying under-privileged women in the beauty and wellness industry. Under her leadership, her academy has created Study Material and Class Plan to train the women. The beneficiaries also received Toolkits to help them start their own business, without relocating from home. They can also freelance, or work as beauty therapists in a local beauty parlour. Over 40,000 women have been trained and close tracking of these Certified Beauticians have revealed that, apart from getting jobs in the organized and unorganized beauty salons/parlors, more than 74% are earning an average income of Rs.4500 in rural/semi-Urban locations by serving home based women clientele in their locality.

Shahnaz Husain’s Chemoline Range, based on Ayurveda, was formulated to alleviate the effects of chemotherapy and radiation on the skin and hair. The products have already given free of cost to cancer hospitals, like Sloan Kettering in the USA and Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, Dharamshila Cancer Hospital, MNJ Cancer Hospital and Tata Memorial, etc. This is also a philanthropic initiative and a part of CSR activities.
