Teenage is a time when there is much hormonal activity, which affects the oil glands, leading to oily skin, blackheads, spots, pimples and acne. So, during the teen years, understand your skin type and give it the kind of care it needs.

“Cleansing” is the keyword for teenage skin. The pores must be kept free of hardened oil and the oiliness of the skin must also be reduced. Use a face wash or cleanser that is specially formulated for oily skins, like Shahnaz Forever Tulsi Neem Face Wash, or Ooops Face Wash. If there is acne, cleanse with Shazema medicated cleanser. After cleansing, wipe the skin with a rose-based skin tonic, using cotton wool. Shahnaz Husain’s Sharose is ideal.

Shagrain Plus mixed with Sharose Plus and rubbed gently on the face and then washed off with water, helps to discourage and dislodge blackheads. Avoid grains and scrubs on acne, pimples or rash. Protect the skin during the day with a cover cream. Mix Shahnaz Husain’s Shabase sandalwood base with Shasilk matte moisturiser and apply on the face for the day. If there are pimples or acne, first apply Ooops anti-acne gel.

To control an acne condition, we also recommend Shaclove and Shaderm. They are to be mixed and applied directly only on the acne or pimples.

Night time cleansing is most important to remove the impurities that are deposited on the skin during the day and also to reduce oil. If there are pimples or acne, apply Shaclear anti-acne lotion only on the eruptions, using cotton wool and leave on overnight. If there are marks and blemishes, apply Shablem only on the blemish by rubbing it into the skin and leave on overnight.
