After cleansing, tone the skin daily with chilled rose water, or Sharose rose-based skin tonic. Toning stimulates blood circulation to the skin surface and brighten the skin. Keep a small bowl of Sharose, in the refrigerator. This way, it is chilled and ready for use. Wipe the skin several times a day with it. You can also use green tea, apple cider vinegar and even white wine to refresh and brighten the skin.
Exfoliating the skin once or twice a week helps to remove dead skin cells and brighten the skin. Take sesame seeds (til), dried mint (pudina) leaves and honey. Crush the sesame seeds coarsely and powder the dried mint leaves. Mix them with a little honey and apply on the skin. Leave on for 5 minutes. Rub gently and wash off with water. Sesame seeds actually have sun protective properties and also soothe sun-damaged skin. For oily skin with blackheads, oats works wonders. Mix it with egg white and apply on the face. After 20 minutes, moisten with water. Rub gently and wash off. Or, mix Sharose with Shagrain rub gently on the skin, specially on areas with blackheads. This pack not only discourages and dislodges blackheads, but also makes the skin bright and radiant.
