If you have oily hair, do not brush your hair too much. It stimulates oil glands and increases oiliness.
After washing the hair, wrap it in a towel. Avoid rubbing vigorously. If your hair is wet, avoid brushing it. Use a wide toothed comb.
The hair attracts dirt and pollutants from the environment just as much as the skin. These settle on the scalp cause hair problems. For dry hair, wash twice a week and use a creamy hair conditioner after shampoo.
For oily hair, wash the three times a week. Use a hair rinse, instead of creamy conditioner. Add 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar to a mug of water and use as a hair rinse after shampoo.
Once or twice a week heat pure coconut oil and apply on the hair. Then dip a towel in hot water, squeeze out the water and wrap the hot towel around the head, like a turban. Keep it on for 5 minutes. Repeat the hot towel wrap 3 or 4 times. This helps the hair and scalp absorb the oil better.
As a quick tip, to smoothen curly hair, mix some water with creamy hair conditioner and put it in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture on the hair. Then comb the hair, so that it spreads through the hair.
Have weekly henna treatments. Add 4 teaspoons each of lemon juice and coffee, 2 raw eggs and enough tea water to the henna powder, mixing it into a thick paste. Make tea-water by boiling used tea leaves again in enough water. Cool and strain. For dry hair, add 2 teaspoons coconut oil. Apply the henna paste on the hair and wash off after an hour. Instead of egg, add more tea water.
